Comfort Foods & PotluckELECTRONIC PRESS RELEASE MATERIALS AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY Margretta Schleich was born in Covina, California, received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University, Fresno, and is retired from a long career providing assistance and comfort to abused and neglected children and their families. Although her mother began teaching her to help cook as soon as she could stand on a chair next to the breadboard, her interest in collecting recipes and hints grew after receiving “The Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook” from her Aunt Marie in 1956. This is the first of five cookbooks created by “Grannie Gretta” to bring simplicity and fun to expert cooks, as well as to the culinarilly challenged. She currently lives with her husband, Ralph and cat, Muggles, in Madera, California.
